This Is Where Stories Go to Die
Between Worlds: Twin Peaks, the Dragon’s Portal and the Art of the Reveal
Greetings Loves,
On this day in 1989—February 24th, at 11:30 AM—Agent Dale Cooper first stepped into the fictional yet hauntingly real town of Twin Peaks. (I know this because it was the first news I received upon waking this morning via William Holloway.)
If you aren’t familiar with the show, stay with me for a moment. The timing here is more than just a cinematic milestone.
“This must be where pies go when they die.” — Dale Cooper
Thinking about Dale’s entrance gives me chills. I have the privilege (and the burden) of knowing how the story unravels. But as an astrologer, I also know that in that moment, Dale stood in the space between eclipses—inside the portal of the dragon’s lair.
Just as we do today.
The windows between eclipses are times of great reveals and narrative shifts—especially with a Mercury Retrograde soon in the mix! We see it in the headlines and, for some of us, in the massive uprooting of our own lives. Our collective and individual stories are shifting.
